Morning Prayer is said daily during the week at 8.45am in the St Peter’s chapel and you’re very welcome to join us!

Stewardship Appeal. A big thank you to everyone who has responded to the letter outlining St John’s financial needs. A reminder: kneelers (hassocks) are available from the welcomers if you wish to kneel during the service - please ask.

A new house group is starting on 22nd of April at 7:30 pm, venue to be decided . If you are interested in joining it  please talk to Carol or Elaine - phone 426589 

Perk Up coffee & cake morning for over 60s: TOMORROW in the Church Hall, 10.30am - 12 noon. There will be a speaker on Finances in Retirement. All welcome: please bring a friend.

Book group: Saturday 26th April, 12 noon followed by soup at 1pm. At 39 Brittany Road, and we're discussing Stephen Cottrell's book "Do nothing to change your life”. Phone Penny on 461776 if you're planning on coming so we know how many people to cater for.

The Church Fete will be held on Saturday July 5th. Mollie Green & her team are collecting books, videos, DVDs, gifts, bric a brac & jewellery. There’s a box for these items at the back of church. We are on the look out for about 10 really good raffle prizes... any offers? There will also be stalls for cakes & preserves.

Following last year’s success we will once again be holding a Flower Festival on 26th - 28th September, here at St John’s in collaboration with the Sara Lee Trust. The theme will be ‘Saints’; and there’s a list at the back of church on which to sign up to do one of the arrangements. First come first served!

Stephen Godfrey needs an 8mm Cine Projector with sound for playing films - his machine has broken, so if you have such a beast in the attic/garage which is no longer needed, Stephen would be glad to take it off your hands!

Tim Massey is looking for some storage space (perhaps in a garage or attic or spare room) - can you help?  If so, or to find more details you can contact Tim on 425 086.

S.O.S - Save Our Seal!  We need a rota’d team of men and women to help maintain the seal on our newly sealed church floor.  See Carol Frost (before she sees you!) for more details - or the sign up sheet at the back of church.  Thanks!

Two v imp dates for your diary:  Penny’s ordination to the priesthood is to be on Sunday 29 June - here at St John’s!  And her First Mass will be at 7.30pm on Monday 30 June

Also in Ministry News - Celia Burge is to be commissioned as lay Pastoral Assistant for St John’s at 6pm Trinity Sunday (18 May) by Bishop Wallace - see flyer!

Caring & Sharing. A newsletter and a prayer card are available for scheme members by the Caring & Sharing box. The Annual Caring & Sharing Eucharist is to be held at St John’s on Monday May 12th.

In your prayers this week, please remember those who are poorly, especially: Victoria Lloyd; Kevin Mendousse; Bishop Peter Ball; Jackie Nightingale;  Margaret Rickard; Eric Ruffhead; Mollie Green; baby Charlie Collins; Kate Doehren; Anne Rowland; Mick Lord; Michelle Rumball; and those whose names are on the Prayer Cross at the back of church
