The congregation at St John’s Church, Pevensey Road is thinking about how we might best serve the community we’re a part of - especially whether we could improve upon and open out more the buildings we’ve got. To help our thinking we’d like to know what you think, what you want and what you need in this area - we need your help.
What’s your experience of living in this part of St Leonard's? What makes life exciting and worth living, and what depresses and drains you? What provision would you like to see in this area? How do you think the church might be involved in this?
We believe that God has set us in the middle of a vibrant, diverse and exciting community - yes, challenges face us, but together we can make a difference to our part of the world.
Our buildings - St John’s church and especially the church hall are currently well used by various community groups, but we think that by providing more and better space (for example a large hall AND a smaller hall and a series of further rooms of various sizes with catering facilities and a separate cafe) that we can offer more to our community who deserve the very best. We’re NOT thinking of messing about with St John’s Church - we’re really looking at the church hall.
We are fully intending to carry on offering space to existing hall users, whilst increasing opportunities to other groups and activities - and still keeping our charges as low as possible.
But in order to direct our plans we need to hear from you - your input will shape the future: we would like you to help us develop something we can all use, benefit from and feel proud of.
By answering our short questionnaire you’ll be contributing towards the developments at St John’s. We’ll be publishing our results here in February, and there will be an open day and displays in church on Sat 10 February from 10am - 12noon. Or if you’d like us to keep you up to date by post, remember to fill in that bit of the questionnaire.
Thank you so much for your time and ideas.
